Torrey Ridge - Courtyard Intervention

I conceived and delivered an immersive outdoor art installation for the Torrey Ridge business-park courtyard. I designed the sculptural and graphic elements and coordinated fabrication and installation with landscape teams and contractors. One concept is a modern take on Japanese koi ponds: kite-like koi fish made of layered mesh hang above the courtyard, and river-bed lines set into the paving guide guests toward the restaurant. Planters filled with sand become small zen gardens, lined with wood slat benches. Another concept stretches multi-colored hanging mesh in orange and yellow across the space, drawn from natural topography, with rust-painted monkey sculptures placed throughout and a trellis draped in leaf-pattern mesh or lit with LEDs. I also designed curvilinear benches whose wave-like shapes come from the same topography. The concept plans, 3D renderings, and bench elevations are below. The transformed space functions as an engaging gallery that improves tenant experience.
